Artists and Fans Connect Via Show Content Thanks to New Platform FanVids

FanVids makes it super simple for excited fans to share their concert videos with their favorite artists. It lets artists gather all the fantastic fan-generated content in one place while providing fans the ability to see other fan content from all over the world. It connects the two sides while respecting fans’ time and privacy, with opt-in data sharing and no logins or app download required.

Growing quickly since its launch in April of 2024, FanVids has gained industry support working with hundreds of artists like multi-platinum singer-songwriter and producer Kelsea Ballerini and rock legend Billy Idol just to name a couple.Thanks to fan demands, FanVids has just launched a trending feature that shows which artist feeds are getting the most love from fans. 

It’s the latest of many moves dictated by what fans want and what artists truly need. “Artists need ways to have a stronger direct to fan relationship and fans genuinely want to be able to share their concert videos and photos directly with their favorite artists.” explains FanVids founder and CEO Jimmy Pemberton. It’s that simple.” 

FanVids’ straightforward, fan-driven approach flows from an insight Pemberton had while working with music companies. As a serial entrepreneur in music with prior successful exits under his belt, Pemberton knew how to zero in on a problem and then create the right tech to solve it. He saw that artists needed more data about who their fans were. 

“It became obvious to me, as I talked to fellow music professionals, that artists weren’t getting enough data particularly around their live shows, ” Pemberton recalls. “I started to wonder how we could get more data about their most engaged fans. At the same time, labels and management companies were spinning off all these fan accounts on platforms like TikTok that they were populating from fan-uploaded content without any secure way to pass the proper permissions over, along with lacking a quality experience for the fans themselves.” 

The two challenges were interconnected, and Pemberton decided to create FanVids to solve them both by collecting fan content in a permission-based way. Fans can upload videos and photos from a show without creating an account or downloading an app. As they do, they can opt in to giving the artist their email or other personal information. The sleek, hassle-free interface was based on exactly what fans wanted.

After FanVids screens fan-uploaded content, artists or their teams then can approve videos as they are submitted, creating an artist-centered feed fans can enjoy--and stats show they do so again and again, coming back to watch these videos. As a result of opt-in data capabilities, artists have a useful database of their biggest fans, the people eager not only to go to shows, but to share their videos and photos from shows with the artist. These are the coveted superfans that have the music industry buzzing.

Live shows are just the beginning, and Pemberton sees artists adopting highly creative approaches to FanVids. “We’re seeing growing creativity when it comes to FanVids,” Pemberton notes. “Though we started off working around tours, we’re seeing artists and their teams getting super creative with the platform for things like catalog support and fan club engagement even when the artist isn’t on tour.” 

All of this content helps artists focus on what they truly want to do: make great music. “Artists are burned out on making content for social media. Everyone knows this,” says Pemberton. “They want to make great music and perform it. Their fans want them to do the same and are happy to give them show content. It’s a win-win.”
